Shout Out! - Little Black Box

Today the Postman brought me a scented surprise in the mail! & before I even looked at the mailing info I knew my Little Black Box had arrived!

For those of you who don't know about The Little Black Box (or as I like to call it, LBB), it's a promotional service offered by Kimberlee Keane (her blog is here) to all small businesses as a way to get samples of your items under the noses of many different & new customers. Up until very recently, her service was mostly geared towards bath & body & candle sellers but she is expanding the Little Black Box to incorporate more diversity for all of her customers: shop owners & indie business shoppers.

I sent my samples into the LBB to go into the June, July & August boxes! It's a big part of my summer promo plan & I'm excited to be working with Kim (who is always fast as lightening to answer questions & ever so nice to chat with). Because I sent in so many samples, I got a free box for the month of June & I've been chomping at the bit in anticipation for it to come! So when it arrived today I could barely stop to take pictures (& not even very good ones at that! haha sorry!) while I dug into my box of indie surprises!

& when I got my Little Black Box open, I was happily surprised! I found it crammed full of soap, lotions, bath fizzies, perfume, coupons, candles & business cards! I was overwhelmed that for just $20 someone could purchase this many wonderful samples (I got at least 13 different pint sized perfections!) & get such a cross section of so many indie businesses. Fantastic!

Each sample is beautifully & individually packaged, included business cards or follow up information & sometimes even coupons or discount codes. Now, please remember that this June was the last month that the LBB would be primarily soaps, candles & smell goodies of all sorts. From now on the box will be a glorious mix of all sorts of indie arts & craft shops.

So for all of you shoppers who are wondering, is the Little Black Box worth $20? I say, 'HECK YEAH!' & for those of you who are indie business & looking for ways to promote, I think the LBB is presented from start to finish in a professional & eye catching way. The customer service that Kim offers her contributors is top notch & the product that she creates to bring you customers is amazing! Give it a whirl! You won't be sorry you did!

I participated in the LBB last year and it was a great experience. I'm glad to see Kim opening it up to more than just candles and bath & body. That's exciting news!
